The Singer Estate Collection: Continued

This posting in one in a series featuring the Singer Estate Collection, which we will be hosting on May 4th, 2013.  It is an unique opportunity to acquire an antique piece of jewelery.

As we mentioned before, the Singer Estate Collection consists of stunning jewelery from many different time periods.  One of those is the Art Deco era.

From the Gemological Institute of America's Jewelery Essentials:

The Art Deco style emerged after World War I and dominated the decorative
arts and jewelry from 1920 through the 1930s... Art Deco jewelry suggests post-war practicality through its strong geometric patterns in bold contrasting colors.
Art Deco features include:
• Bold, contrasting colors
• Strong, geometric patterns
• Sleek, streamlined look, emphasizing the vertical line
• Gemstones including diamonds, black onyx, lapis lazuli, rubies, emeralds,
sapphires, jade, turquoise, and topaz
• Carved or cabochon-cut colored gemstones
• Primary colors in rich combinations and strong contrast
Here are a few examples of Art Deco jewelery from the Singer Collection.  These images are for example only, they may not be available at our show on Saturday.  But they are beautiful and we are sure to have many more beautiful Art Deco pieces for you to enjoy -- this Saturday!
